CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

Cancellations will result in a refund of all payments except a $20 nonrefundable deposit.

ABSENCES, DISMISSALS, AND WITHDRAWALS

The Directors reserve the right to dismiss any camper whose influence and conduct become detrimental in any way to the best interests of other members of this camp. FBC will not issue refunds for campers dismissed for disciplinary reasons. FBC will also make no tuition deductions for absences, withdrawals before the end of the session, or late arrivals.

EARLY DEPARTURES FROM CAMP

Our experience is that early departures from camp are difficult. They are difficult on your child because they miss out on significant end-of-camp experiences. They are difficult on the cabins because early departures impact the chemistry of the entire group. Therefore, unless absolutely necessary, please avoid early departures.

CABIN AND ROOMMATE ASSIGNMENTS

Campers are assigned to cabins by the FBC staff. A roommate request may be made, but it must be a reciprocal request from another camper of the same camp; however, we do not guarantee we can honor such requests. Only one request per camper, please.

Due to last-minute cancellations, bunk and cabin assignments are made the evening prior to each session. Finding out bunk and cabin assignments are part of what makes opening day special.

PET POLICY

Service animals are allowed at camp. For reasons of sanitation, public health, liability, environmental impact, and safety of all campers, we ask that all pets remain on a leash. Due to allergy issues, there are no pets allowed in camp housing.

SCREEN-FREE POLICY

To promote healthy socialization amongst campers

To help teach and enhance communication skills

To enable children to make meaningful bonds with people face to face

To enable staff to build a better cabin and community

We believe that unplugging during camp enhances our connections: to each other and to our surroundings.

Campers are not permitted to bring any devices to camp that are capable of playing games, watching movies, downloading data or being used as a telephone. This includes:  Cell/Smart phones, iPods, iPads, laptops, any gaming device, E-books of any kind. If these devices are found in camp, they will be confiscated. Campers who require a phone for travel to and from camp will be required to turn in their phone before entering camp – the phone will be returned at the end of the session.

Digital Cameras are permitted.

For camps, technology is a quandary.  It is an integral part of our lives, yet it can also be pervasive and all-consuming.  At camp, where we aim to strengthen interpersonal connection, growth, and independence; technology simply gets in the way. During camp, we want to protect our campers’ ability to play and engage unencumbered by a device.  Thank you in advance for your help in supporting and implementing this policy.

BIBLICAL SEXUALITY POLICY

We believe God created human beings as male and female (Gen. 1:27). The complementary, relational nature of the human race as “male and female” reflects the created order given by God when He created human beings “in His image” (Gen. 1:26- 27; 5:1, 3; 9:6; 1 Cor. 11:7; James. 3:9; cf. Rom. 8:29; 2 Cor. 3:18; Eph. 4:23-24; Col. 3:10). It is with joy and contentment that we are to receive the gift of being either male or female at birth.

Forward Bible Camp views gender to be a person’s biological sex at birth (Genesis 1:27).

Campers will be required to be registered, organized, and to be housed according to their biological sex at birth.

Campers that are confused about their identity will - to the best of our ability - be treated with the love and kindness that our Savior treats anyone that is struggling with sin. We believe that love and kindness does not include dishonesty or partaking in the delusion that a person can become a different gender. Consequently, campers will be referred to by pronouns based on their biological sex at birth.

Campers from all faiths and values are welcome at Forward Bible Camp so long as they are open to biblical teaching and are not actively trying to encourage others to be persuaded by ideas that are contrary to the Bible.

People identifying as LGBTQ will not be allowed to serve as volunteers at camp until they are sure they agree with, and comply with, the clear biblical view on this issue stated above.

Forward Bible Camp only recognizes monogamous, heterosexual marriages. We believe sexual intimacy is to take place only within the confines of a marriage between a husband (one biological man) and a wife (one biological woman). All other sexual expressions are outside the Biblical standard of human sexuality.
